Java Server-Side Developer

The Hyperic development group is looking for a seasoned server-side developer to contribute to the next generation of our server and agent components.

As a member of the HQ server and agent development team, you will be responsible for the following:

-Contribute to architectural discussions concerning the internals of the HQ server, agent, and agent plugin framework
-Work with product management on the requirements of new features
-Solve complex integration problems
-Take technical ownership of key areas of the server, agent and plugin framework
-Work with QA and the rest of development to ensure sufficient test coverage of Hyperic HQ
-Provide documentation input for HQ releases
-Interact with other product teams and customer support as needed


Requirements:

-Solid Java fundamentals
-BSCS or equivalent required, MSCS or equivalent preferred from a highly-regarded accredited institution
-5+ years experience in server-side development, experience with agent architectures preferred
-Spring Framework experience highly desired
-Experience with select J2EE-related technologies required: Servlets, JDBC, Hibernate, experience with one or more major SQL-oriented databases, JMS. EJB experience is NOT required
-Experience with non-SQL-base databases a plus
-Must be comfortable working in an agile development process
-Must be comfortable in working in a collaborative environment, where your peers review designs, code and testing as part of the code commit process
-Located in the downtown San Francisco office, will not consider remotely-located candidates
